Something About Healthcare

Growing up and growing older has benefits but also aches and pains. Forget about the physical ailments what I am talking about is insurance, doctors, and other stuff like that. Many Americans have insurance through their workplace and I am grateful for the healthcare afforded me and mine.

When your insurance company denies coverage for various treatments and medications it can be a pain in the butt. Sure, costs are a factor, but not everything should be about money. Healthcare is financial and political.

We all have to deal with the changes and hope they won’t harm us. When you have chronic illness and conditions that require daily care then you have to hope it won’t bankrupt you or worse. My friends we all must take care of ourselves so we can take care of others.

My New Diabetes Meter

I got a new diabetes meter today that is more old school than my previous meter. This is a cool device that connects with my smartphone so I can log my readings and keep an eye on my Type 2 diabetes. This kit included everything I needed to get going and that is why I chose it. Let’s see how it goes.

World Diabetes Day, Take Care Fellow Diabetics #worlddiabetesday


I’m one of millions of people who have Diabetes. I control it with medication and diet. Many people have this disease and it’s manageable with proper care. I am seeing a endocrinologist to help me manage it. So to all who have either type 1 or 2 take care of yourself first so you can be there for your families and others.

Status Update

When your damned blood sugar is high and you wake up at 3 AM because of it and then your brain clicks on it means your day is going to be a long one.

I started to think about how to save the world. My plans were going to piss a lot of people off.

Surprise News From My Doctor’s Appointment

I always dread going for my 3 month checkups as a diabetic. Weight is the big thing with me and getting on the scale is something I really don’t like. Today I got a surprise in that I have lost 10 lbs. After vacation where I ate a good bit more than I usually do I expected to have had a gain over my last visit. Well it seems I am doing something right to shed this much weight. Good surprises are fun, even when you don’t expect them. Yea for good news.
