Is Freedom In America A Real Thing?

I am a white, Anglo-Saxon, protestant from the United States and I am so tired of white, Anglo-Saxon evangelicals telling people what they can do or not do with their own bodies. Also, I grow weary of them making life really, really hard for LGBTQ people who did nothing to bother them. Their brand of morality is intrusive and goes against life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. My goodness, no one asked them to get involved in the private lives of others. This is not being a good neighbor in the sense of live and let live. What happened to freedom in America?

Transgender Awareness Week – November 13-19

Transgender Awareness Week, observed from November 13 to November 19, is a one-week celebration leading up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which memorializes victims of transphobic violence. There are two people in my life who are in the process of transitioning. It’s more important for me to be an ally who can support them as they begin to live their authentic self.

Hate is Hell On Earth

I believe in a pure sense that God disapproves of all the hate that is going on here on Earth. The way minorities, LGBTQ, and others who are not white, straight and the like get is pretty evil in my mind. It’s time to calm down the hate. No one who is just trying to make it in the world deserves to be hated or threatened.

It’s time for those who hate and spread hate to grow the hell up and realize that everyone should have a chance to make it in this crazy world. I truly believe that hate is hell on Earth. Let’s do that peace and love thing. Let’s do better for all people.

Thought Of The Day 06302023

Opportunity, justice, and forgiveness are universal things. No one should deny others of those important things. I believe in a God who wants to give those things to people of all races, creeds, orientations, and backgrounds.

What the United States Supreme Court is doing lately is bullshit and is harming people who should enjoy the full measure of life, liberty, and happiness.

Pride Month Has Begun #Pride #LGBTQ

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

Pride month is a global celebration recognizing the LGBTQ community around the world. The work of acceptance and full inclusion continues. As an ally I’m proud to stand with my friends in the community who seek justice and to live their lives without fear.

Living Free Without Fear or Malice

America’s the land of the free and home of the brave or its supposed to be. I think freedom is only for a few and they use that freedom to make life hard for other Americans.

Freedom of expression and the press are not what they used to be. There are books being banned that are sharing the dirty history of this country just because some are offended that it gives them and the country a bad name. Some of those books are helpful in informing people of the differences that exist and telling the stories that might save someone’s life. Civil rights have been long fought for and it’s not right to turn back the clock on those rights.

People are being harmed just for living their lives as LGBTQ folks and the thing about that is that all they want is the freedom to be themselves at no cost to anyone else. I can guarantee you that no LGBTQ person would advocate restricting the rights of anyone who is straight or CIS-gendered. It’s not fair.

My friends I am scared for those who have to make a decision to leave their home state to go to another state where they are safer due to laws being passed impacting their individual freedoms. Women’s rights are being trampled upon and they should have the right of self-determination without politicians getting in the way.

Bravery isn’t bullying people. Its fear and ignorance manifest itself in a dangerous way. I hate bullying. The people who do it need to repent and that means some religious people have some atoning to do.

I am also seeing the influence of extremism and fascism making itself known in places around the world that have been havens of peace and prosperity for all people.

To those who have fought for freedom, you have a responsibility once again to stand up for those who are under attack and in danger. You have to because it’s a moral thing to do. Those who are strong have the obligation to defend those who are at their weakest. It’s time to protest. Make voices in the margins heard.

Now some will say why are you bashing the country, simple I have the right to do so and the responsibility to call out injustice and hatred. This country fought against it in World War II and it looks like it’s having to do it again in 2023. I hope America can do better. America will never be great until all its people are free to live their lives without fear or malice.
