Today is Sunday, tomorrow is Monday. The holidays are done. We return to regular routines and our day-to-day existence. It is good to have a change in life every now and then because it keeps us fresh and renewed. Many of us have had extended time off while others have had just a couple days to rest and renew. In this new year there is going to be change, it’s guaranteed. Life is about flux and fluidity. No matter what you do, I hope you will do it well in the coming days.

Amputated Dreaming
Last night I had a dream my leg from below the knee was amputated. It was a strange, unexpected dream that has me bewildered. Dreams like this aren’t always about the event but something symbolic and/or subconscious. My wife assured me its probably something I am struggling with or something like that. I didn’t have a huge supper last night and I slept well so there wasn’t anything that could have upset me overnight. Perhaps I shouldn’t read too much into it. Having both legs is a good thing and makes me appreciate those who have had to have an amputation in their lives. Here’s to sweeter dreams soon.
The Hunger Games For Real
Sometimes you are Haymitch Abernathy and other times you are Gale Hawthorne or Peta Mellark. There are also days when you are Katniss Everdeen. I hope to win the day-to-day Hunger Games. I just hope there is no President Snow to deal with. May the odds be ever in our favor.
A Hope For Us All On Wednesday
May each of us today be calm in the face of uncertainty, chaos and fear. Let cooler head prevail in situations around the world. No matter what storms you may be facing I hope you weather them the best way you know how to. Everyone I hope for grace, peace and love for each of you today.
Generation to Generation
There comes a time when the youth of a society must step up to make a contribution. As some generations age they aren’t able to do the same things they could when they were younger. It’s also important for previous generations to mentor the youth of the day to prepare them to take charge and do good things in the world. The contributions of all generations should be honored and appreciated. There comes a time to pass the torch from one generation to another so the work of community will continue and life will go on.
Death Is Life
As you get older in life you realize your own mortality and the mortality of those who you love and admire. No one lives forever and because of that fact you will make visits to funeral homes and the like more often. You will also go to funerals of people have known for years and for just a little while. Over the years I have paid my respects to many special people who are now in the company of saints. Death is a part of life and there are different ways to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on. Some who pass on you expect to because of natural causes or declining health while others die unexpectedly. No matter the circumstances there is shock, pain and great sadness that goes along with the whole experience of someone leaving this life, this world. It was not my intent to be morbid or sad here but to share some experiences of a person who loves many and has hated to see them go on to eternity and to be with their creator. Death is life or its a part of it anyway.
