International Women’s Day #IWD2023 #EmbraceEquity

International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

I support what this day is about. Women having security, opportunity, equity and equality. Thanks to the women in my life for their influence and care. Here’s to the women of the world.

Fake Rage Is Real Bad Stuff

Some things are worth getting mad about. Racism, homophobia, poverty, environmental destruction, etc. Some things are just made up by people so they can joust windmills because they need a scapegoat to place their fears. Fake rage as they call it can be harmful to real people. I worry about people who are put in harm’s way because of bad bills being put into law that come from a very bad place. So many more things are worth getting upset about like child abuse by people in authority. Life is hard enough without some people making it even more difficult. I hope people can learn to chill and put their anger in a better place.

Wow, March 2023 Is Here

It is hard to believe March is here. The weather where I am seems to reflect that fact. Let’s see what it has in store for us all. March on good people. Have a great month.

Being You, Whoever That Is

Don’t let anyone try to make you feel bad for being yourself. It’s good to be weird, quirky, eccentric, and other stuff. Being you, whoever that is can make the world a better place.

Past Hopes For A Fantastic Future

Ah yes, this is so true. By now there should be people working and living on the moon and other fantastic futuristic fantasies. What happened? Where did we go wrong? Let’s have hope for a stellar tomorrow.

The Real Me Is Who You See

So much of what we see on social media is curated and controlled. We all know that life is crazy and chaotic and that is what is below the surface. Not many people want others to see that side of their lives. However, it’s what makes a person more interesting. Seeing warts and all makes for a better story because it means you are trying to learn and grow. I think people hope they can be something different online at least. I cannot pretend to be anyone else. I am not that good of an actor.

Over the past few years, I have experienced loss, we all have. We experience things that change who we are. I used to be an overwhelmingly positive person and a people pleaser. Now I am a little jaded and kind of grouchy. You know that is OK because people and life change daily. I experience depression and anxiety and I am getting help with that. More men need to do that sort of thing.

None of that changes my desire to be kind. Being a jerk to me is not an option but it does mean I reserve the right to be flawed. Everyone struggles and it’s not cool to add to that struggle.

My friends, I try to be who I am in my physical existence in my virtual existence. Don’t expect perfection because there isn’t a perfect person who posts to this blog or on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Being genuine and real means something or at least I hope it still means something.
