May The Fourth Be With You, Happy Star Wars Day

Today is May 4th. This is Star Wars Day. A day to honor one of the greatest movie franchises ever. It’s a high-holy day for geeks and nerds to celebrate The Force/Fourth of May. These movies introduced us to Darth Vader, Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C3PO, R2D2 and of course Yoda.

In these days, we have real Empire and real Rebels fighting for the future. I know what side I am on.

Let’s Have A Good Weekend!

Hey there good people, it’s the weekend. May it be swell for everyone. Grace and peace to you all, my friends.

You don’t have to keep calm if you don’t want to.

My First BetterHelp Session

Everyone needs help sometimes. So through my employee assistance program at work, I was able to connect with a counselor from the counseling service BetterHelp. I am working on some things that I have been putting aside for a while. My counselor and I had our first session today, and I am looking forward to our future meetings.

Mental health is important, and being able to engage with a professional to help me sort through the stuff going on my heart and in my head. I am hoping for some resolution and healing as we go along. There is no shame in finding help.

Canada’s Election Day – Get Out And Vote

Today is the Federal Election in Canada. I am hoping for the best with a Mark Carney win. No matter what, Canada has to unite to fight the menace south of the border.

If you haven’t voted yet, the polls are open for another few hours. Do your part!

Hey, It’s Friday!!!

Good people it’s Friday. Let’s celebrate the weekend is coming and we all could use the recharge. I hope you all are doing the best you can. Love and peace to you all.

Well Done Pope Francis, Thank You!

Pope Francis, the Bishop of Rome and spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, passed away on April 21st, Easter Monday, from a stroke and heart failure. Earlier, he had been in the hospital for pneumonia. He was 88 years old. For 12 years he was Pope, and he made all those years count.

He was a Pope of the people. In his ministry he reached out to the marginalized, the immigrant, the LGBTQ community and was deeply concerned about issues of the environment and climate. Peace in Ukraine and Gaza were always on his heart and mind. He was more pastoral than some of his predecessors.

Francis, who was from Argentina, was the first Latin-America Pope ever. His life was about service and being humble. In his time at the Vatican, he lived frugally and without the bells and whistles of his office. Was he perfect, no.

He worked hard and practiced the command to love thy neighbors, and he made strides in bringing people of all walks of life together. I liked that he wanted to build bridges, not walls. He seemed to believe in building a bigger tent and to show mercy. He visited prisons, washed feet, and emulated Jesus Christ as best as he could.

His faith practice was at odds with some in the Catholic Church, but he was all about making the world a better place, no matter what his critics would say. All I can say is well done, good and faithful servant. Rest in power. You will be missed.
