Today is Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated in the Christian Church. It is traditionally a day of fasting and penance.
On this day I am remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity. One embraced by many. To give ones life for the cause of love is a noble one. Today I remember that act. Jesus did so much in a short amount of time that made people whole and brought people together. He was a carpenter so he built community and offered justice to the oppressed. To those who followed him he gave them a life of opportunity to do amazing things. May all of us find ways to emulate the works Jesus in our own way.
I work for Blood Assurance, a blood bank in Chattanooga, Tennessee and I made my every 56 day donation of whole blood.
My philosophy is that if I ask someone to donate I need to donate myself. Today’s draw took a speedy 5 minutes because I prepared by hydrating and having a good meal before. This saves 3 lives.
It’s important that we know that there is a universe bigger than ourselves. There is a theory of everything that explains some of those mysteries. Whether it be religion or science making the world a better place is what we should all be hoping and dreaming about.
This movie is about Jane and Stephen Hawking and how they came together and his early work as a theoretical physicist. It also chronicles the early days of his diagnosis of ALS or Lou Gherig’s Disease. Its a great romance against the odds. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones shine in this movie.
On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington DC to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today. For More visit March For Our Lives – March 24, 2018
I fully support this effort to demand that the lives and safety of kids and families are a priority. Gun violence has become a problem around the country and around the world. It’s time that this issue is taken seriously. The students who are leading this are a inspiration and give me hope for the present and the future.
