An AEW Mark Watches WWE Monday Night Raw After Wrestlemania

I am a hardcore All Elite Wrestling fan but I watched the Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania and here is some feedback.

I liked the opening with Triple-H and the new Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Champion Cody Rhodes. That seemed to turn the page for a new story to be written. I wasn’t crazy about Cody’s interaction with The Rock it made him look small at times. The segment with The Judgement Day. That faction seems to have a unique vibe. The actual in-ring matches were fine but I still think AEW is much better in that department. Other than what I saw in clips on YouTube and other places I have limited knowledge of the Bloodline angle led by Roman Reigns.

Their TV production and announcing team were excellent. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee have great chemistry. Their ring announcer Samantha Irvin is superb.

Soon I will give Friday Smackdown a look, perhaps delayed on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I suppose it’s good to open one’s mind to other promotions. It might be useful to have a continuous working knowledge of what the WWE is doing.

Farewell Sting, Thanks For The Memories In NWA, WCW, TNA and AEW

My favorite professional wrestler just announced his retirement. Sting has been wrestling for over 30 years. He has inspired millions over the years. His last match will be at the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Revolution PPV event in 2024. Thank you for the memories, Sting.

A Pro Wrestling Commentary

I don’t know everything about professional wrestling. I do know I love the sport and want it to flourish everywhere. Sure I am a little tribal and I prefer the upstart All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to the crusty veteran WWE.

We all have our preferences. I have decided to post about wrestling from a positive, constructive position. Because it’s helpful and provides some balance I hope. Pro wrestling is about life because it’s about hopes and dreams. Good and bad. Dark and light. Sacrifice and pain.

When you look at the sport as a whole it’s doing better now than it was 4 years ago before the arrival of AEW. I look at pro wrestler Matt Cardona who was let go from WWE and has found his niche in the independent scene and he is wildly successful.

The word Independent should not be seen as a pejorative but as a word of opportunity to make a living going to places where there is a true adventure for the wrestler. Wrestling is not just WWE or AEW.

Wrestling has its share of cynics, critics, and the like but it doesn’t have to. At the end of the day, it’s men and women who just want to chase a dream, and if they are a little lucky they can lift a pretty gold belt that says they are a champion.

Support wrestling on every level. The future of the sport depends on it. Also just enjoy it and don’t sweat the details too much.

PS: I won’t discuss if pro wrestling is fake or not here. I don’t want that negativity thank you.
