To all my friends celebrating this Holy time of year I hope you find renewal of faith, hope and peace. May you find connection to the divine and to one another. God bless you.

Black and White Photo Challenge – Day 1

I have been challenged by a couple of my fellow bloggers to do a black and white photo challenge. Today I am accepting that challenge and I hope to do good here. Thank you for giving me this opportunity my friends. Anyone who wishes to do this I challenge you.

I am a Licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister at my church, this means I can serve communion at any Episcopal Church in the Diocese of East Tennessee. This is a Credence Table where elements of Communion stand ready for worship. This is a important part of my service at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Y’all Means All

It’s a true gift to be in community with a body of believers who are from all across the spectrum of life and experience. Opening the doors wider is better for everyone. Right now the people of the world need to know about a love that never ends. As a person of faith I am committed to being a part of that community that makes connections with people where they are and who they are. Diversity in gift and spirit makes this whole thing work. To God be the glory. May the peace of the Lord be with all people.  Thank you St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga for being that place.

Your Faith, Your Terms

If someone tells you that your faith isn’t strong enough because it doesn’t fit into their view of what faith should be then tell them you are working out your relationship with God/Higher Power in a way that makes sense to you. Religion and spirituality are deeply personal. Remember some folks are not religious but that doesn’t make them bad people. Love one another, be good neighbors.

Quote Of The Day

“Change is not what we expect from religious people. They tend to love the past more than the present or the future.” – Richard Rohr

To all in the Muslim community celebrating the month of Ramadan I wish you peace during this time of prayer, fasting and reflection. May we find connections to bring us together and to seek new ways of understanding. As-salāmu ʿalaykum to everyone.
