Keeping up with tragedies is painful.
We have the tendency to run away from suffering and to look for happiness. But, in fact, if you have not suffered, you have no chance to experience real happiness.
Thich Nhat Hanh
Making it minute by minute just to survive one thing to another is the rule of the day. Whether it be your own situations or those you love and care about. Everyone is going through something today if they could just make it through tomorrow is a possibility. Struggle, suffering, life are all things we must endure at one time in our lives and we must see that play out in the lives of people who we love. The grownup thing is to face it but if you are like me hiding my head in sand to avoid the reality of the moment is what we want to do most. Courage is the call of the day. If we can just get through the night we can see tomorrow and hopefully realize the possibilities of that day.
Survive the moment so one can look to the next.
If we start being honest about our pain, our anger, and our shortcomings instead of pretending they don’t exist, then maybe we’ll leave the world a better place than we found it. Russell Wilson
When you are suffering, you become more understanding about yourself, but also about other people’s sufferings too. That’s the first step to understand somebody is to understand their sufferings. So then love follows…Yoko Ono
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land. Deuteronomy 15:11
As we go through life there needs to be hope in the trials we go through. Our suffering is meant to bring hopefully wisdom and some courage. No matter what you are experiencing have hope, have it abundantly. Hope will keep you sane and alive if you want it to. My friends know we are in this existence together and when you have some hope to spare, share it with others.
The thing about suffering is it gives you experience that can help others get through their own suffering. It’s a part of our shared humanity. Pain informs you who you are and tells others how you deal with what life throws at you. From a faith perspective its important to know its intentional. No matter what rely upon others to help you get through pain and suffering you are going through. It’s what we are all here for.
