I made the decision to leave Twitter. Well, I’m leaving until things improve there. Elon Musk has destroyed something fun and good on the Web. His decision-making is suspect at best as it comes to something outside his wheelhouse. I don’t think I will return anytime soon though. I am on the newly popular app Threads which seems to be growing quickly. You are welcome to follow me there at @tonyburgess1969. I hope to see you there.

Small-town people who have done great things for the world. One would say they embody good small-town values.

In case you haven’t heard there is a new movie coming out called “Barbie” and it’s based on the children’s doll most of us grew up with and know a lot about. I am not in its target demographic but I think it’s an important film because we need more whimsy, more good nostalgia, and more play in the world. Classically this doll was marketed for girls but I think there are a few boys out there who identified with her more than something like G.I. Joe.
Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig are on to something I think is creative and cool. This man thinks that the color pink is one of power and brilliance and from what I have seen in previews there will be plenty of it. The world of Barbie is about friendship, being yourself and so much more. This movie would be incomplete without Ken who is played by Ryan Gosling. It has an all-star cast too.
I won’t be going to the theatre to see it but I will catch it when it comes to home video. Here is to more films that are like this. Where everyone can have a chance to dream fearlessly in pink.
