Thanks For Paying Attention Anyway

When someone is critical of a post or ones work that is their opinion, but it can be a learning experience. A critique of your writing can make you better although it can sting at first. I am not the greatest blogger but I try to be open, friendly and informed as much as I can be. I blog from my heart and facts can be missed in points I’m trying to convey. As I said to a blogger punctuation is my kryptonite and I need to brush up on things that I’m writing about. You don’t have to agree with everything I say and that’s OK. Thanks for paying attention anyway. Keep on blogging.

A Careful Balance

It’s good to have a careful balance of madness and magic in your life. A fellow blogger helped point that out to me today. We all need to be crazy when called upon but we need to make special things happen and to do magic when needed. I am a believer in magic that comes from ordinary things happening to make things better. Without it we are all in a bit of a quandary in life.

Be magic, be mad, be yourself!

Something About Simple As It Seems

Nothing is ever as simple as it seems, nor black and white. However there are some things that I wonder about that are in the public consciousness. There is the pro-life movement, but we have weapons to fight wars and to keep the wild west a thing in the 21st century. Health is everything but not everyone has it or the ability to be taken care of when they get sick. Being well is expensive and medicine is a premium and a hard choice for some. We want the very best for ourselves but will often leave others to fend for themselves because there is fear of losing what they have always had.

People went to one type of school as a kid but that same school isn’t good enough for their own kids. The idea of family is awesome as long as the family looks like yours and not any sort of deviation from the “normal”. I am puzzled by those who want religious liberty as long as its their religion that can have the freedom to do what it wants.

Prayer in schools is still there as long as there are tests being taken in the classroom, so why do we need to have it from one particular faith perspective? There is a universal desire to have freedom but as long as freedom is for you and yours but not someone who just wants the same freedom to love and to live their truth.

It seems like some want life to be simple where everything is as it was years ago when they were the ones calling the shots. Now that they are losing control over the situation now they find themselves desperately clutching onto whatever influence they still have and will manipulate things to get their way because they want it old school.

Nothing is ever as simple as it seems, things are more complex. We have to live to adapt and roll with the changes. Everyone will be better off that way, hopefully.

The Persistent Persist

Life is hard, its’ sometimes not fun. We of a certain age have things that don’t work so well like it used to. There are people who are learning to adult and to be grown-ups, that is hard work. Our pay and jobs aren’t what we want them to be. There are many who are going to bed hungry and don’t have roof’s over their heads but still find the fortitude to go on. Yes the struggle is real but as Jerry Butler and later Elvis Presley once sang “only the strong survive” but I would add the persistent persist.

Daily Prompt: Control

Everyone likes to have control over a situation, mainly their lives. Giving up any control can be very disturbing to some. We all know a control freak out there who wants to manage every single aspect of their world including other people. The idea of having that much power is very concerning. Sure we like to keep the ball in our court and to have complete say so in life but its truly impossible. Forces out of our control determine daily our fate. Decisions are made in mysterious places that can determine what happens in our lives. Giving up some control can be freeing and will relieve massive amounts of stress but the reverse can be true too.

Writing When Sleep Is Elusive

I have discovered that when you have to empty your head of it’s thoughts that writing them out is helpful. Last night I had to get something out of my head and off my heart that I couldn’t sleep so I went to my computer and just wrote. After I got my thoughts on screen and pixels it made getting to sleep much easier. They say write your dreams and ideas out when they come to you and I would have to agree with this. A late night writing session is very therapeutic.
