The Academy Awards failure to recognize Wonder Woman by denying it of any nominations is troubling and sad. It was a opportunity to recognize a film that was culturally important in the past year. The Oscars needs to expand it’s world view and to be more inclusive of different types of genres that includes comedy and super hero movies. The team of Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins were special in a time when the role of women have social significance. The same could be said for past movies who were also snubbed.

I snubbed it because for me Linda Carter is the real Wonder Woman 🙄sorry….

Linda Carter is the iconic Wonder Woman but Gal Gadot is a really splendid 21st century Diana Prince. It is a really good movie and gives total respect to the character. I do respect what you are saying though.

I think the Academy just hates blockbuster-type films. They usually tend to go for more indie and eccentric-type films. The last time a blockbuster/big studio film won Best Picture was “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”.
I quite liked Wonder Woman, and it’s a shame that Patty Jenkins wasn’t nominated for Best Director (although women weren’t shut out completely in the category like they normally are; Greta Gerwig was nominated for Best Director for “Lady Bird”, and I’m rooting for either her or Jordan Peele to win in that category).
