In the aftermath of the 2024 election it is going to be important for allies and supporters of marginalized people. I am a cis gendered white male and I want to know how to be a better ally to the groups that are under threat and persecution especially women and LGBTQIA+ people. I will try my best to do good stuff but I do know I will make mistakes. Guidance is helpful here. What can I do to be of help.

I wouldn’t ask them to DO anything right now. What you’ve written here is a conscientious start.
I’d continue to say: I am very sorry more people of my demographic group voted as they did. That I feel pained by the outcome. And that I am here to listen about how to be a better ally. You did some of that with that post.
