After pondering what my last post on data centers was about, I can think of some alternative data centers that would be helpful in our communities. We need properly funded and stocked libraries and other places of knowledge where people can learn and grow using technology that isn’t destructive or invasive. Data centers wreck everything around them. Making human connections in community centers and the like. Artificial intelligence should have more human-centered actual intelligence built in to give it some balance.

I don’t think anyone thought you were talking about that sort of “data centers.”

I’ve been to the Library of Congress and it is a terrific data center. Their security—impressive.
They asked me to open my purse and they peeked at its contents because they thought it was a wee bit oversize. I carry lots of “just in case” stuff and Hubby thinks of it as his personal luggage area for me to carry around. No problem. Chuckle. They let me pass through.
I agree, there needs to be human element in tandem with the AI component. Humans are able to distinguish nuances, I believe AI can not.
