All posts by Tony Burgess

Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Happy 48th Birthday To Yours Truly!

Today I turn another year better, wiser, nerdier. It’s my 48th birthday and I am not sure how I feel yet. Celebrating another trip around the sun is always a good thing but what you do in all those trips and how you live is what matters most. I won’t be taking today off which is what many people do on days like this. Let’s make today a day of celebrating all our lives no matter what stage in life we are.

Six Word Story

Blogging is forever. Keep on blogging.

Helping Texas Through Blood Donations

Blood donations are a great way to help those effected by Hurricane Harvey Donations will be needed in local Texas hospitals due to collections being impacted due to relief efforts.

Y’all Means All

It’s a true gift to be in community with a body of believers who are from all across the spectrum of life and experience. Opening the doors wider is better for everyone. Right now the people of the world need to know about a love that never ends. As a person of faith I am committed to being a part of that community that makes connections with people where they are and who they are. Diversity in gift and spirit makes this whole thing work. To God be the glory. May the peace of the Lord be with all people.  Thank you St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga for being that place.

I Get Emotional

Oh I’m an emotional and sentimental fool who has been known to cry and feel. I need to vent and make mistakes in the process. Grace is needed for men like me now more than ever, or something like that.

Quote Of The Day

We can destroy what we have written, but we cannot unwrite it.” –Anthony Burgess (Not me, the author.)
