It’s a nice morning here in Wytheville, VA where the sun is shining bright at times. We are closer to the sky and further east. After a nights rest we are looking forward to a full day of visiting and exploring this village. The life and feel of this place is different than the city. This is a welcome change of scenery with some familiar people.

They say Virginia is for lovers and I can say they may be on to something. My wife and I are visiting our former pastor and her husband (in our Methodist Christian tradition women are ordained into ministry) in her new faith community where she is serving. Vicar Amy as we call her was our pastor for five years at our former church. She lives with a her engineer husband and a precious son. We haven’t seen her in two years so this is a great reunion. It’s also good to have a change in scenery. This weekend is going to be fun. Pictures and more posts to come of course.

That’s me in the foreground with a Hiwassee College t-shirt on. This was from 1991 during a co-ed bible study I was a part of in college. This brings back some serious memories. I look like a dork there right out there in front. I miss times like this a little but I am really enjoying the here and now.
