Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. Six Word Story

Perception isn’t always what is reality.

Christmas Is Three Weeks Away

Christmas Day is 21 days away. It’s hard to believe, right? How close to being ready are you? I’ve done most of my shopping and I’m not stressing too much at the moment. Let’s have a jolly, holly time good people.

The First Sunday Of Advent 2023

Today begins the season of Advent which is celebrated by many in the Christian world as the prelude to the season of Christmas. This is an Advent wreath with four Advent candles that are lit on the four Sundays before Christmas and the Christ candle which is lit on Christmas Eve. I pray for a good Advent season to all who celebrate and may this be a time of mindful waiting and reflection.

Eye Will See Better Soon

Today I had my yearly eye exam and my peepers are doing well. However, I need new glasses so I selected the trademark nerdy frames I am wearing in the bottom picture (thanks to my missus for the pix). Now I gotta wait a week or so to get my new bifocals.

Welcome December 2023

December 2023 is here and somehow it seems like yesterday it was January 2023. Time flies sometimes. Let’s hope for a good month of cheer and glad tidings. We must be mindful of people who are suffering in one way or another. Be good to one another in the days ahead. Love and peace to us all. Happy Holidays.

Holiday Blood Donation

I made my last blood donation for 2023 in advance of the holidays. This time of year blood donors are needed to help keep a good inventory available for those in need and for emergencies. As a blood bank worker I’m always glad to help.

You even get a donor gift and snacks for donating. That’s a cool part of the experience.
