Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!

Kindness In The Schoolhouse

Students will be returning to school in the days ahead. This graphic has some awesome advice to help everyone feel included and cared for as they negotiate the year ahead.

Quote Of The Day

To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times, what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens.

Busy Doing Sunday

This is the way Sunday should be. Just chilling out without a care in the world. But we all know what lurks in the shadows…Monday.

Sunday Serving With My Priest, Father Quinn

This is me and my priest Fr. Quinn. He is leaving my church, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at the end of the month to return to his hometown in Florida where he will become the rector of a church there. This is the last Sunday I get to serve with him as a Lay Eucharistic Minister before he leaves. He has been great to work with. I am grateful for his service, his ministry, and his family who have been a great blessing to the people of the church. Thank you, Fr. Quinn.

A Very Tony Question

This meme is courtesy of Nerd Etiquette from Facebook. It’s a personally difficult question for me being a Tony myself and all. Note that this meme was made before the death of Tony Bennett. It is still a dilemma of choice nonetheless.

Thought Of The Day 08052023

When you see that someone has done something wrong both ethically and legally then it only makes sense to hold that person accountable for their actions. It frustrates me when you see people trying to justify what that person did.

Our world works best in shades of gray. Sometimes black and white are the only binary options that fit the situations that have occurred. What we have seen in the past few weeks with the 45th President Of The United States is an example of what is needed.

The truth will set you free but it can also get you 5 to 10 (years) in the pen.
