Democrats and ten Republicans joined together to impeach President Donald Trump for the second time in his presidency. It’s amazing that the insurrection was one week ago. It’s truly a troubling time in the United States as President-Elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated on January 20, 2021. What a time we live in right now.
This makes me sick to my stomach. This is America right now. Not the greatest nation on Earth, not that it was to begin with.
Serious shit is going on and we need serious people to act. I am trying to be one of those persons.
Hurricanes, pandemic, racism, homophobia, homegrown terrorism, unemployment are dominating the headlines and it seems so very overwhelming. I am mad that there are some folks are not taking any of this seriously. This is a national and global community issue. We can also say there are people who are having a hard time paying rent, keeping the lights on and food in the pantry.
There is much pain to be felt and some aren’t even acknowledging anything is going on. I can honestly say things are not going in a positive direction and its OK to admit that. Being realistic is good if things are going to get better.
All I can say is that Donald Trump is a jackass who is empowered by evil. He does evil. He is not truly serious about leading. He just wants the title. Screw him. His supporters should repent for supporting him. He has to go for the worlds sake. He’s not for life he’s dealing in death and the evil of greed.
Right now I am righteously mad as hell and that is more than OK.
Fake news comes from people who don’t know what they are doing or talking about. Also, those who ignore expert advice and science. Just saying.
The fact that both Donald Trump and OJ Simpson are on Twitter should be scary. Of course they are the symptom of a greater problem which is scary enough. OJ is going to have it really rough because of his dubious past. Then Donald Trump tweets and think that is policy which is frightening. Twitter is a place for freaks and geeks with hearts of gold. The Donald and The Juice are two of many in the Twitterverse I could live without.
I am angry. Angry about how selfish people can be that they don’t want others to have the same things they have and to enjoy those freedoms of citizenship. Some folks wanted the clock turned back to a time that wasn’t good for everyone. They bought into the idea that America wasn’t great anymore. Why in the hell did a man who seems to have brought foxes into the hen house get elected. What also pisses me off is why did people of faith give this person a pass for the boorish and unethical behavior he has displayed in the past and basically torched our current president for wanting to give people health care and the right to marry who they choose. To me its party, ideology and greed above all else. Very sad and dark days are ahead for everyone.
We have had a lot of deaths of note-worthy people in 2016. Many of them have made significant contributions to the life and culture of this country. Granted I don’t wish ill on anyone but I did make a joke about Donald Trump and Mike Pence being a couple that could be taken.
As we leave 2016 behind and we know what sort of year it’s been I don’t hold hope for 2017. The new administration will do some serious damage to the rights of minorities and the LGBTQ community. They will repeal health care for millions who have been saved by it. They will do serious damage to education and the environment. Donald Trump is already showing his presidency will be Twitter-driven.
His policies will roll back the progress that has been made in making this a more just society for those on the fringes and those who have been denied a seat at the table of equality and justice. We should not abide by this man and he should be challenged at every turn. My fear is that our government will turn back into one that serves a privileged few and those who felt on the outskirts who voted for him will be left behind. So perhaps Trump and Pence need to feel the heat and be held accountable for every person who will be adversely affected in the next four years.
This is shameful and heart breaking. As an Episcopalian this hurts even more. Why is there need to vandalize places of worship? I pray for those who did this and hope they will realize the error of their ways. May justice, forgiveness and reconciliation come from this.
