Transgender Day of Visibility – I Support My Trans Friends and Neighbors

I am a LGBTQIA supporter. On this day the contributions of trans people are being recognized. They face unfair discrimination. Laws are being passed that are cruel and heinous. I know several trans people, and they are just wanting to live their lives without fear.

The transgender community has made so many contributions to our society. Jazz Jennings, Rachel Levine, Dylan Mulvaney, Laverne Cox, Sarah McBride, Elliot Page, Nyla Rose, Gisele Shaw, Janet Mock, and so many others have made our lives culturally richer and better.

I so wish that the bullying of trans and other non-conforming people would stop. They didn’t ask for any of this. Live free trans people. You are loved.

I love stupid humor. The type I laughed at when I was a teenager. Dad jokes are always great. Will Ferrell and his movies makes me chuckle. Minions make me laugh and laugh. Those dinosaur meme videos are something I will always laugh at. My preferred humor is more wet than dry. As they say laughter is a great medicine. We all need to laugh more.

Another Palm Sunday Reflection

Jesus was about soft power. He came into Palm Sunday on a donkey. Everything he owned he was wearing. He inspired love, community, cooperation, healing. Breaking bread was how he reached the hearts and souls of people. All of those things set an example for us to live our lives with love and peace and to be good neighbors. Jesus turned over tables as a means of justice and fairness. Holy chaos was his thing. We should be about soft power and some holy chaos.

A Palm Sunday Reflection – It’s Good Chaos

It’s Palm Sunday, and it’s where Jesus is brought in with laud and honor and by Friday he’s been nailed on a cross, died and buried. To me, it’s a story of how things can change quickly. As I think about this whole Holy Week thing is that Jesus knows what is going to happen but remains faithful. His disciples by the end of the week are wondering what in the hell is going on. They gave up their lives to follow him, and he’s being prosecuted as a criminal in the minds of the state. The only thing Jesus was guilty of was upsetting the status quo. Jesus was always good at creating good chaos wherever He went. Palm Sunday is just the beginning of it all, so perhaps today should be seen as chaos.

Terminator 3, Rise Of Real Machines?

Check out Terminator 3. It’s a cautionary tale that continues the Terminator story. Remember Cyberdyne’s Skynet and all the things it can do through Artificial Intelligence. It’s when Skynet goes online bad stuff happens after becoming self aware and taking control. Things that are artificial can now become intelligent and destroy stuff. Scary shit eh? It may be a movie of fiction but sometimes art imitates life.

Arnold Schwarzenneger and Kristanna Loken’s terminators go to war to save John Connor played by Nick Stahl and Kate Connor Claire Danes who are the hope for all mankind.
