National Dog Day – Honoring Our Three Good Boys

Today is National Dog Day and I would like to honor my very good boys Mikey, Cody and Frankie. Mikey and Cody are no longer with us but Frankie is the special boy dog who every day makes life more interesting for us. Boys, your mom and dad love you very much.

I Miss You Dad, I Love You Dad

Dad, you have been gone six years. I miss you so much today and every day. I love you now and always.

My Favorite Recipe

Daily writing prompt
What’s your favorite recipe?

This recipe is a family favorite from a friend of the family. I absolutely love this dish because it’s beef and sauce and full of good memories. It’s good with rice and steamed broccoli. Each year I ask for it on my birthday. Check out the Soup Diva’s site to check out the recipe.

Getting Older And Getting A Discount

I appreciate a discount like anyone. Money is tight for everyone. However, being reminded you are getting older and because of that you get a discount on phone service can be a reality that isn’t fun to face.

We got this in the mail from T-Mobile, and they want us to come back as customers. They highlighted the fact that I am eligible for some age-related discounts now. That depresses me a little.

Next Friday, I am turning 56, and I am a member of Generation-X. However, I have the sense of humor of a 15-year-old, the attitude of someone a little younger, but my body feels like someone in their mid 50s. It’s good to have a youthful spirit about you.

Our current phone provider serves us well. We won’t be making a change. However, I guess getting these discounts can be beneficial, just don’t want to be reminded I am getting older for reasons.

Missing My Dad This Time Of Year

Tomorrow, August 24th is the sixth anniversary of my dad’s death. Remembering him daily keeps him alive. I miss that good man every day. I still would rather have him with us, no matter how cool Heaven is. Dad, I love you.

Remember The Days

Remember the good ole days when we all could agree that slave owners, nazis and predators are the bad guys? I do and apparently some don’t.
