Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!
It’s time once again to move your clocks ahead one hour because we return to Daylight Saving Time. I hate this time of year because of the loss of sleep and how it makes me feel for a few days later. Also, the changes in light and dark parts of the day can be annoying.
International Women’s Day, previously known as International Working Women’s Day, commemorates women’s fight for equality and liberation along with the women’s rights movement. International Women’s Day gives focus to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. I salute all the women in my life who are making a difference and doing good things for the world.
The weekend is upon us and I am very glad. This week has been a long one it seems. Let’s have a good time of resetting and fun good people. Love and peace.
Today is Ash Wednesday in the Christian tradition. It’s the beginning of the season of Lent. During this season it’s a time to repent, reflect, pray, and draw closer to God. I served at my churches Ash Wednesday service as a way to begin this journey to Easter. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust
The city of Chattanooga goes to the polls today to elect our mayor and city council. I’m voting for Mayor Tim Kelly who has done a good job so far. Get out and vote fellow Chattanoogans. Democracy on the local level is so important.
