Hi there, my name is Tony Burgess (my friends call me T-Bird) from Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. I am a believer, bleeding heart, idealist, and blogger. I'm married to Laura the Soup Diva and a dog dad to Frankie, Cody, and Mikey. Daily I work for a blood bank recruiting donors. My blog is where I chronicle and curate the sacred, serious, and silly things in my life. I am a member of The Episcopal Church. Thank you for connecting with me. Grace, peace, and love!
There is a misconception that a blog post has to be lengthy and comprehensive. My approach to blogging is one that is a hybrid of a traditional blog post with that of a Tweet. 240 characters or 240 words or less can give you freedom to post thoughts, current events going on in your life and other ideas. Make a point of blogging in the moment. Post a picture and add a little text to it. Some bloggers have word prompts such as the ones from https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com can help with getting your creative juices flowing. Also you can post your favorite YouTube videos and other media.
An example of a short post with a picture/graphic.Find quotes from people you like that inspire you and share with others.
So when you find it hard to come up with a post you can go small for big results. The key is to keep on blogging, it can be fun again.
Where is the time going, really? Today is the last day of September and I feel like it was Labor Day just yesterday. Before you know it Halloween will be here and then you know what follows. The clock can slow down a bit if it wants to, no rush.
Showing mercy instead of judging your neighbor is a great practice. Loving your neighbor can create connection and community that can make life better for everyone. Being poor in your bank account doesn’t mean a person is poor in spirit. There are people everywhere who have a wealth of friends, family and so many other things than money. No matter what someones life circumstances are they are worthy to be looked at without judgement. It’s important to know that no matter where someone comes from or how they look that they are humans worthy of friendship, love and a lot of grace.
It’s my hope that the world community will come together without regard to wealth or privilege. The richest people have the least in their bank accounts. No matter where someone comes from they are deserving of humanity and to be looked at with mercy and not judgement.
It’s amazing when people who you know change so much that it is stunning to your system. I am seeing this a lot on Facebook where friends are belligerent and mean spirited. They will attack your opinion which feels like they are attacking you. It’s also stunning when they don’t care that they hurt you deeply. The world is full of stunning situations and people these days.
