Happy Hanukkah

(From My Jewish Learning) Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights.

It commemorates the victory of the ancient Israelites over the Syrian Greek army, and the subsequent miracle of restoring the menorah in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The miracle of Hanukkah is that only one vial of oil was found with just enough oil for one day, and yet it lasted for eight full days.

Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends and others who observe this holiday.

Mary was called to be the mother of Jesus. Her #care for him is an example to us all to love one another. #AdventWord

There are a wide array of organizations who participate in the parade from the Fire and Police Department to Girl Scouts, churches, elected officials and more. Everyone comes out for this great time of festive fun.
