I worked from home on Friday due to winter weather making it hard to get around safely. Fortunately things melted enough so that I could get back to the office today. Let’s have the best day possible good people.

Due to the icy weather this morning, our church canceled services. We still attended church, but virtually. My college roommate Joey is a United Methodist pastor. He led a service from his church that we watched this morning. His parishioners stayed home but he went in and streamed services via Facebook. It was good to see him in action this morning.
This reminded me of when everything went virtual due to COVID years ago. It was nice being in my pj’s this morning but my faith is best expressed in community with others and to be present in the parish house at St. Peter’s.

Meta is the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, What’s App, and Threads. I am on all three platforms and I won’t be dropping any of them. I rely upon Facebook to keep up with family, friends, and other stuff I am interested in. Threads, the Twitter replacement is a great place of connection and communication. I stay connected to pro wrestling there. Instagram has a purpose for visual expression and communication.
Yes, Meta’s chief Mark Zuckerberg’s business and ethical dealings are very suspect. We have seen what he has done in eliminating fact-checking and DEI initiatives. Sure some of his decisions are disappointing. The platforms his company has created are vital for many to keep in touch. Sure I can moderate my usage and tweak the settings so that I won’t bothered with stuff I don’t want to see.
Until someone can create a viable replacement with the same social reach as Facebook then I won’t be leaving. Nor will I leave Instagram or Threads. Hopefully, in the coming years, we will have that option.

The snow keeps on coming into our afternoon. It’s more than I thought there would be. It’s pretty I admit.
We told the truth, we obeyed the law, and we kept the peace.
