Now More Than Ever, Just Saying

Have you ever heard the phrase “now more than ever” used to emphasize what is needed in the moment that seems to be dire or insurmountable? I admit I use it to make a case for something that I feel is warranted for any serious situation. Now more than ever we need to be saved from ourselves or now more than ever you need this thing that can make your life so much better. Perhaps now more than ever people require this or that.

My point is that we will always have situations where now more than ever is what makes sense in life. One thing I hope is that this won’t become so cliché it loses its intended meaning. More than ever is one of those things that we say when there is nothing else we can say to get our point across and to create a sense of urgency. There is value in this statement and I hope it doesn’t become cheapened the more we use it.

A Prayer For Protection And Care

Creator of the universe you are a loving God who is there for your people in times of trouble and tragedy. May your children be comforted, calmed and secure in the coming storms. This storm is not of your hand but of a planet whose ecosystem needs balance and care. Be with those who will help the people who are in peril and need make it through.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma is on its way and will impact Florida and the southeastern states. I have friends in Florida who are riding it out and hoping for the best. I’m in Tennessee and we will get some of that weather early next week. There are other storms brewing in the Atlantic too so keeping watch is a routine thing these days. To everyone in the storms path be careful, be alert and remember that life is always the most important concern in times like this.

Something About Job Struggles

I make my living making phone calls for a noble purpose. It can be tough work, just ask my coworkers and they will tell you the same. We all have our own struggles on the job.

The Predicament At The Pump

Due to extreme weather gas supplies are running low in some places. This pump at a nearby convenience store has run out of regular and mid-grade fuel. Gas is important and the price of it has gone up lately. Who knows what other situations will arise as future storms approach.
