Walking out of your own graduation because the commencement speaker goes against your core values it takes courage. I think the message that Notre Dame sent today was one that needed to be made. When LGBTQ students and their families are in peril by those who seek to do them harm and to take their rights as citizens to marry whom they choose and to live as straight people have for years something needs to be done, non-violent protests are the right thing. Those Fighting Irish who walked out win the day, they win with hearts full. Love is love!
Here’s To The Dreamers, Something Inspiring

After the Chattanooga High School – Center For Creative Arts received their diplomas the students sung this song together. We need more dreamers and doers in the world. It’s truly inspiring and resonated with me to continue dreaming about having a future that includes everyone.
Hello Sunday My Friends
I arose at 7:30 this morning and cooked breakfast, did a load of laundry and a few other things before getting ready for church. Knowing me I’m going to take a nap this afternoon, because it’s Sunday after all. The weather seems right for a chill afternoon at home. Have a great day everyone. Grace, peace and love.
Safe Creative Spaces For Dreaming and Doing
We need a world of safety and security for those who just wanna be their authentic selves. Kids who wanna have pink hair and purple shoes while walking hand in hand down the hallway with a good friend. A person who would rather read poetry and paint a masterpiece than to play a sport. They need the support of a community to achieve their dreams in the same way athletes have been supported for years. Visual and performing artists are in schools right now creating and making things that will inspire and comfort us all. They need to make their living pursuing their dreams so that our world will indeed be a better place. Dreaming requires a place for doing and making things happen.
Graduation and Reflection
Tonight I went to the graduation ceremonies at Chattanooga High School – Center for Creative Arts. I was highly impressed with the school spirit there. Community, Creativity and individuality are the hallmarks of this institution dedicated to teaching the arts. One thing that this school thrives on is creating a safe space for kids to express themselves without fear. We need more spaces and places for kids to be who they want and to be themselves. In as much as I am grateful to Red Bank High School for its part in making me who I am I think it would have been good to be in a smaller school with kids who I was more like. I cannot change the past but I can hope for the future for kids everywhere to show the world what they are made of.
A Clarification About 11 Years With WordPress.com @wordpressdotcom #wordpressdotcom

I posted a graphic of my 11th anniversary here at WordPress.com a couple of days ago and I feel the need to clarify something in regards to it.
While I signed up with WordPress.com 11 years ago I have blogged on other platforms such as Yahoo 360, Multiply, Blogger and Tumblr over those years. Two years ago I made the change from Tumblr to WordPress due in part to the acquisition of Tumblr by Yahoo which is now owned by Verizon.
My transition to full-time blogging with WordPress.com is one I have not regretted. This is a great community of people to be among and there seems to be a level of “maturity but fun” that I enjoy here.
So with that being said 11 years is a long time on the Internet because so many things change. Yahoo 360 and Multiply are no longer and other services have changed in that time. I don’t mind paying a little for some advanced services here to assure that WordPress.com remains viable, independent and stable. I also like that they do all the heavy lifting for me so all I have to do is create and share.
Here is to more years of WordPressing On!
