Fiesta Soup

We are having this family favorite for dinner tonight. The weather is getting to be just ideal for a slightly spicy soup that is nourishing and good too.

The Intern, A Great Movie

The_Intern_Poster (1)Tonight we saw “The Intern” starring Robert Di Niro and Anne Hathaway. Nancy Meyers is one of my favorite producers and writers for the screen. She did not disappoint in this movie about how a retired person can find new life in the modern work scene where things have changed. It was an inspiring movie and should give everyone hope that no matter how old you are you have a purpose in life and that you can learn to do new things at any age. Di Niro and Hathaway were quite good too. It’s a movie that I would recommend to anyone at any stage of their life and career.

Today I went to a farewell lunch for my former boss who is moving to Baltimore. Thank you for everything Avery.

A Ramble About Being Provocative

Being constantly provocative and negative looks good on no one. There are times when people have to let down their anger and pain because they have carried it around too long. Online its easy to poke the bear because you do have the shield of seeing how it really impacts people.

Now its OK to challenge people on what they think because sometimes we all need that. However is it good to keep an attitude that chases others away? I get some folks have wounds that run deep, those aren’t the people I am talking about. We all have a Debbie Downer who doesn’t know how to go along to get along. Perhaps we all need to turn our frowns upside down every now and then.

Learn to love and be freed for joyful participation in the world. Light a candle, chase out the darkness. If one has difficulty doing that, then reach out, there are people who care.

Today was my boss’ last day and this was a going away picture with some of the folks I work with. We work hard to help provide a safe and adequate blood supply to our region. Nerds get stuff done. Farewell Avery, thank you for believing in me and for taking a chance on me. I am grateful for my job and the things I get to do.
