Perspective On Life and The World Courtesy of The Tennessee Aquarium
I was looking at this section of the Tennessee Aquarium and a couple things struck me. These animals don’t know what in the world is going on outside this tank. All of them are just living their lives the best way they know how to. Sure that shark can eat all the things in that tank but he doesn’t. Perhaps he has learned to live in peaceful co-existence with the other creatures in his small world. Yes there are handlers that take care of all their needs but still its a very peaceful life.
As I gazed upon this sight it relaxed me and it reminded me that you have to keep swimming in the case of the shark but being a part of something bigger is quite awesome. There was a relaxation thing too where seeing fish float and swim free of the cares that bog me down. Maybe we need to all just chill out and enjoy the place and space we have. I am glad I had this moment with these creatures and this place. Perhaps I need this more often.
Daily Prompt: Total
We obsess with the notion of how much we lose, gain, acquire and how we impact our Total. Our work judges us by our total this or that and if we are doing this or that well. Total is also a breakfast cereal that is found on a grocery store aisle so we eat it too. When we are good at a lot of different things we are the total package. Calculators, spreadsheets, sports stats are something that involves totals. When at war total devastation is the aim for those on the battlefield. Total means a lot of different things to different people. What is your total?

Blogging With Instagram, Not A Fan
Instagram is a wildly popular photo sharing app that has made sharing of everything you see easier and fun. I don’t think it’s meant to be a blogging platform. I share pictures from Instagram on my blog but I don’t do blog style posts on Instagram. The two have different purposes.
To me Instagram enhances and extends the reach of my blog. Now I can share photos in many different ways on WordPress so that means I don’t have to fully rely on Instagram.
Sometimes a picture says a thousand words so you don’t have to write 1000 words on an Instagram post. Every social platform has it’s purpose and strength and when choosing how best to communicate it’s a best practice to be mindful of your audience. Don’t get me wrong, I like Instagram but not for blogging.
This post was written on my WordPress app so I can write a long-term post and still make my point and reach a wide audience. I will always be a blogger so everything else is a support to that activity. Keep on blogging my friends.
Daily Prompt: Radiate
The sun and heart radiate warmth. Both things that are good and necessary for a good life. We need more things that radiate positivity in such a negative world. People who radiate light and love can change things for the better and we need that now more than ever. It all starts from the center of each of us and spreads out to others. We make a choice every day in what we reflect to those around us and that can influence people more than you know.
