Hello friends, I took a couple days off from posting but I got this great notification this morning that I have eclipsed 500,000 all-time views. I don’t know what I did to deserve it other than just posting about stuff that came to my heart and mind and some of it was probably boring.

The rules of friendship have changed. Online friends are just as important as “in person” friendships. There are people I have encountered over the years who have become good friends and we may never meet face-to-face. But those long distance friendships are important.
This crazy world has revealed that we need people in our lives who we can identify with and to make connections. Social networking has made making friends easier. Of course cat fishing and other traps are an unfortunate reality. Using your best judgement is advisable.
Long time local friendships matter and sometimes those become online relationships.
I am grateful to have all these wacky people in my life and I hope I am worthy of your friendships.

We are beginning the first full week of 2022. The thing about a new year is the unknown. Sure, you can keep thinking about tomorrow, but it is a blend of daydreams and nightmares. In my corner of the world, the weather is trying to be all four seasons in one day. New Year’s Day was stormy, wet, and warm but winter weather is rumored for the beginning of this week. I am hoping work will start strong because that will set the tone for the year. Of course, we shall see what happens. It’s been good to have the new year’s celebrations on a weekend so the new year can get going in earnest on Monday morning. But let’s not rush Monday. No one wants that. The new year is just getting started, it’s time to get to living and working and all that jazz.
This year has been tough and for many just terrible. Everyone has been impacted in one way or another. So much has happened and it’s hard to keep up with it. Just ask our friends and neighbors how life has changed. COVID and all that goes with it have worn on us all and taken the lives of so many. Cultural and political upheaval are changing life in our neighborhoods and the world.
My friends, there have been so many other things that have challenged us and I am thinking we are just trying to survive and hope one day to thrive again. In the coming year be good to yourself, your friends, your community because we need 2022 to be better than the previous two years.
After a few days away I have returned to usher 2021 to the scrap heap of history. It was a rough year but we made it through for the most part.
I will be posting and sharing more in the coming days and renewing my connection to my blogging community. I hope you all are doing well and are ready for a new start and a new year 2022.
