Bloggers create, writers create, artists create, musicians create, chefs create. When you create something you put a part of your point of view out there for the world to see, experience and consume. It takes courage to create things in the hope that others will like and enjoy it. The key is to do it for yourself first and don’t let others get you down when they don’t connect with your work. Being a people pleaser that is hard to do. One thing you can say is that you are brave enough to offer something different and from your heart. Go and create today!

Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Learn
When one goes through some adversity whether it be internal or external you learn things about yourself you didn’t know. The process of self discovery can be difficult but there is much to learn from the experience. I feel like when you go through things your prior experiences where you have been able to learn about how others cope is powerful and helpful for your future. Success and failure are two powerful teachers and the lessons you learn from both are valuable and necessary for personal growth and development.
The Thing About 49
Yeah, today (August 29, 2018) I turned 49. Another year older, wiser maybe, dorky definitely. With that being said I don’t act it because that would be so boring but I do feel it. Slowing down even at my age can be a bummer. The one thing I have chosen is to relate to people from all generations. Sharing our common struggles in life can make this whole living thing so much better. Age is just a number so they say and I think there is merit to it.
Everyone is in different places in life but there are people who have been where others are just now are. I am not going to be the old guy who knows more than the younger folks but I hope I can be there for everyone if they need someone.
Making it through life is tough today it was tough yesterday and the days before that. Being aware of that can make someone who’s 19, 29, 39 and 49 feel better about where they are and where they are going.
To all those who are younger thanks for your friendship. To those who are older thanks for your connecting with me and letting me see what’s down the road.
The road to the big 5-0 begins today.
Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Renegade
Something a little different here….
He was a good kid. Raised by a good family. Went to the neighborhood church. He went to school every day. He did what was expected for the most part. However he saw things in the world differently. He began to think for himself. He became a social justice warrior and a social justice worrier too. He became a black sheep, a weirdo, a renegade of sorts. The thing about it is that his life led him to be who he is today; a believer, a blogger, a person with his heart on his sleeve.

Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Zealous
Zealous, this is a word I am all too familiar with. In my life I have been known to be overly zealous about this, that or the other thing. My enthusiasm and zeal to advance a cause, be a part of something or doing my work have been what I am known for. The problem is that being too zealous can get you into trouble because you might miss something important or perhaps impact ones relationships when you really want to be involved with people or things. Call it the geek/nerd in me that wears his heart and soul on his sleeve. I think I have calmed down in the past year or so but there is still a part of me who will always remain zealous.

There is an old saying blossom where you are planted and for many that advice has served them well. It has served me well in some cases. People like plants need air, soil, water and sunlight in a matter of speaking in order to grow. Sometimes people need transplanting to a bigger pot in order grow more but often staying put can benefit you and the community you live in. Many people have found family, friends and connection being where they are and if one can find that it’s a true blessing.
Blossom was also a TV show starring Mayim Bialik from 1991 to 1995.
