Have you ever watched a TV show just to see what people are saying about it on Twitter. Sometimes the comments are better than what you see on the screen. With this multi-screen entertainment environment we have going on it makes sense to have your device running twitter while you are tuned into your favorite show. The thing about it is that it works only when the show is live and bunches of people are commenting about it at the same time. Streaming DOES NOT offer this feel of communal viewing. I am old school like this and I like to see something live and on a big screen. I like the instant feedback that Twitter provides and it does influence people to continue watching something or just leaving it behind. So enjoy TV and Twitter at the same time.

Rambling About Support of Community
The support of community institutions by other community institutions is important. It doesn’t matter if its schools, houses of worship, businesses and places that offer assistance. More importantly its up to individuals to support the places that make community better for all of us. The advancement of the missions of these organizations is dependent on us all.
Back To The Classroom Students
Students are returning to the classroom these days and its a time of gladness for parents and sadness for young people and college students alike. I remembered the times when we would go shopping for school supplies and clothes. Back in my day (yeah I just said that) we would go back to class at the beginning of September, after Labor Day when it wasn’t so hot. Now kids are going back in the beginning of August which in my mind is crazy. Its very tough in the school house for kids these days because there is more to learn and more to do. There is also a situation where its tough to be yourself and to not conform, just the same as it ever was. Socially its tough because not everyone knows who they are. Bullying is a issue from all generations and its something that needs to be dealt with on all levels.
I am a smart person in many areas while in others I struggle. As a kid I had learning disabilities and was in special education classes. Eventually I caught up and made it through with a lot of help from family and the good Lord above.
Kids are trying to keep up with the demands of the classroom so our country can keep up globally. Homework is piling up on the kids like I never had. Friends its tough to be in school today. The pressures of making it in the classroom are high. Our students need support from family and community to make the grade. Keep the kids of all ages who are back to the classroom now and in the coming days. They need it now and always.
This commercial aired in America by the Staples office supply chain. It welcomed sad kids back to school while parents celebrated the most wonderful time of the year.

Question Of The Day: How Far?
How far would you go to help someone? Across town, across the country, across the world? Some folks will go to another country to lend aid and comfort but won’t go across town when its needed.
So the question is How far would you go to help a friend, a neighbor, a stranger, your community.
Rambling About Community
The things that make up community are its people, their gatherings and how they enjoy life. Over the past couple of days I have seen communities in action to make their places better. We all live somewhere and there are opportunities to experience other people in an open way. It’s important for people to engage others in commerce, communication and camaraderie. If there is to be peace in our world we have to know one another and to exchange ideas as well as merchandise at a farmers market or at a craft show. Community is important locally and globally. Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with all of us, everywhere.
