Today was Social Media Sunday in many church communities around the world. My contribution are a few pictures I took today at my church to commemorate the occasion. There is a great spirit at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga and we are glad to be there.

Tomorrow the churches of the Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee are encouraged to participate in Social Media Sunday. It is about making connections and sharing with the world what our churches are doing. I blog, Tweet, Instagram and Facebook so I will be doing my part. Other churches of other traditions will be doing their part too. I am excited to be a part of this effort at my church St. Peter’s Episcopal in Chattanooga.
These are some shots of things at church. The sanctuary where we worship, a banner featuring the keys of St. Peter and artwork featuring Jesus and Mary. Our new church home is a place of inspiration and love.
Many churches in the United States celebrate the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on October 4 each year. The feast commemorates the life of St Francis, who was born in the 12th century and is the Catholic Church’s patron saint of animals and the environment. It is a popular day for pets to be “blessed”.

We are taking our dog to be blessed at the church we are visiting. Pictures to come.
On Sunday we are starting a confirmation class at a nearby Episcopal Church we are interested in. This class will help us know more about the local church and the greater Episcopal church. It will last six weeks and could lead to us joining. I am excited about getting started and seeing what God might have in store for us. We have been visiting some churches locally but are settling down for awhile. It should be fun.
Pentecost is a Christian holy day commemorating the descent of the Holy Ghost upon the disciples of Jesus Christ, according to the New Testament of the Bible. Grace and peace to all who observe this day.
