Sunday Reflection – Everyone Is Judgy

I am judgy. I am also human. With those two things being said I can say that everyone is a little judgmental. I hope partly because we need some level of judgment in order to keep ourselves out of trouble and avoid danger. But the truth is that we all judge one another.

We all label, we all assume. Is it right? Is it good? I would say that our imperfections lead us to do those things.

The thing we have to do is not use that as an excuse to treat others poorly although it happens due to human nature. My friends, we have to work on being judgy. It is hard work but worthy work. I just hope we learn to be in a community where we can live with one another despite our faults and other stuff.

Love despite the labels. Judge not or try not to. Be curious, that might be the remedy for being judgy.

People of “Loose Morals”

The words slut, whore, bitch, ho and other expressions of people of “loose morals” seems to be in my experience aimed toward women. Perhaps as a way to shame or demean them. Of course there are men who could be called the equivalent names for the things they do.

Ones behavior and responsibility is a personal thing and perhaps we should give some grace to these people. However there are some folks whose actions can cause great damage to others and they need to be called on it but not by calling them names. Don’t cast stones.
