Thought Of The Day 80520

I believe in supporting someone or something is the best way of making them better. When we say something “sucks” do we ask ourselves what can be done to help make it better. No one is perfect and everyone is sharing the ride known as life. Build up, don’t tear down.

Wednesday Wisdom: Water #WednesdayWisdom

Water is life. It is one of the first things made in creation. So much of our livelihoods are dependent on the stuff. For a believer its cleansing for the soul. H20 is a molecule and when there is a lot of it there can be hydration for the body, recreation for the spirit, power for our lives. It can be a way we receive nourishment and care.

When water becomes violent such as a storm or a hurricane then it becomes devastating. Water seems to always win. You can build things to retain it but still it wins. But on the riverbanks and at the lake it can be a place for people to gather to connect with one another.

Today, lets think about water in all the ways it is a significant part of our existence. Don’t forget to drink what you need and not waste any. Water is very much alive.

Sunday Reflection: Storytelling #sundaythoughts

One could say life is a story. Everything we do in life is recalled from memory to be told later on. Whether it comes from a book, music, movie, or in a campfire there is a tale worth telling.

Some of the great story tellers such as Shakespeare, Austen, Lewis, Twain, Haley, Swift, Paisley, Cash, Spielberg, Howard and Young and many more have captured our imagination and challenged us to think differently. We have learned much from their art and vision.

Family stories can be the most colorful and something that ties the past with the present and the future.

In scripture, the feeding of the five thousand is one where there are lots of characters to choose from. Jesus was doing some cool things to bring community together and performing a miracle in the process. Talking about a big fish story.

Blogging and social media are telling our stories in real time. We get to share our experiences in this life with one another as it happens. As a long-time blogger its quite fun to see how other people live and where they are coming from. Its like travelling without having to leave your home.

Movies are a way to share a story in a communal way where people can see different things from the same source. Videos from YouTube are an important part of giving voice to people and to offer instructions on how to navigate life.

Stories are important. We all have one. Let’s be sure to insure the transmission of our lives and culture into tomorrow. There is much to be learned from it all. Tell us the story good people.

Monday Motivation By The Letters #MondayMotivation

This is a clever way to look at Monday and other days of the week. Enjoy this gift of this day. Have a great day my good people.

Saturday Thoughts: The Spirit Of Being Boho

The word Boho is one of those words you hear a lot in some areas of life but I wasn’t familiar with its larger meaning. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary its a person (such as a writer or an artist) living an unconventional life usually in a colony with others. There many synonyms such as bohemian, counterculturist, deviant, free spirit, heretic, iconoclast, maverick, non-conformer, lone ranger, and so on.

Parts of me are very boho in that I am a free spirit, heretic, maverick, non conformer, While I sometimes go along to get along. Perhaps we all do this. Boho can be a style of life where you order yourself in being an individualist. The old saying you do you is one floating around there.

I think many of us have the spirit of being boho but might be too afraid to show it. The men I grew up around were very straight-laced and conformist. Many of the men I am acquainted with are like that. So I am not sure where I deviated from that influence. You could probably blame college for that and also my learning differences made me do things my own way. Taking your own path means being a lone wolf but eventually, you find your pack.

Being yourself whoever that is can be liberating, freeing but it will drive others crazy. Life is crazy and right now the spirit of being a boho can help one survive.

Whee! Happy Friday Everyone!

As Snoopy says whee! happy Friday everyone. We have made it through the week and for that we all deserve to raise a mug of root beer and celebrate with friends like Woodstock.

Post on your blogs and have other fun too. Grace and peace to everyone!
