Thought Of The Day

Change is hard but a part of life we cannot avoid.

The Cost Of Saying “No” Too Many Times

You can only say “no” too many times before people stop asking you to be a part of something. I understand too well that saying “yes” too many times can deplete your mind, body and soul. Saying “no” frequently means giving up possible opportunities that can change your life and the lives of others.

The solution could be prioritizing ones life so that there can be some balance but even then its easy to decline instead of accept. Professionally you have to say yes every now and then to indicate you still have interest in growth and advancement in your chosen field. Personally it means giving value to relationships of family and friends that you want to be a part of their lives.  Just saying “no” just to say “no” out of habit can be a problem for you down the road.

It takes courage either way to say yes and to say no. You just have to figure out what means more to you.

Homeless In College

Watching a report on CBS News today where there are an estimate 32,000 homeless college students around the country. There are students who also go hungry too and food banks are set up on campuses. College aid for some students just covers tuition, books and fees with little else for housing. Just think about how expensive college/university can be these days. This shouldn’t happen in America or anywhere.

Life is much like the work of a sand sculptor, carving the beach… Each day, the night’s tide offers you a brand new canvas!… Cyranny

The Class of 2018, Walking To The Future

Graduation

College/University and High School students are donning caps and gowns to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas and degrees. The walk is symbolic as it means going from one stage of life to another. For many, it means going on to the next level of education. Others will walk into searching for a career they have worked very hard for in the classroom.

This rite of passage is the cumulation of a lot of time spent preparing for the future. There is a struggle for many in the next phase but its all worth it when they find something they are called to do.

Class of 2018 may you find your way on the path before you. Congratulations to you all. Hang in there, you got this!
