Generation to Generation
There comes a time when the youth of a society must step up to make a contribution. As some generations age they aren’t able to do the same things they could when they were younger. It’s also important for previous generations to mentor the youth of the day to prepare them to take charge and do good things in the world. The contributions of all generations should be honored and appreciated. There comes a time to pass the torch from one generation to another so the work of community will continue and life will go on.
Death Is Life
As you get older in life you realize your own mortality and the mortality of those who you love and admire. No one lives forever and because of that fact you will make visits to funeral homes and the like more often. You will also go to funerals of people have known for years and for just a little while. Over the years I have paid my respects to many special people who are now in the company of saints. Death is a part of life and there are different ways to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on. Some who pass on you expect to because of natural causes or declining health while others die unexpectedly. No matter the circumstances there is shock, pain and great sadness that goes along with the whole experience of someone leaving this life, this world. It was not my intent to be morbid or sad here but to share some experiences of a person who loves many and has hated to see them go on to eternity and to be with their creator. Death is life or its a part of it anyway.
Rambling On Frustration
Sometimes you gotta step away from a situation that is frustrating you. Things in life get to the to the point where you just need a break from it. A nice stroll is a good way to take a breather. Whatever has you in a tizzy doesn’t have to make you crazy. My friends the best way to be your best is to put a stop to the frustrations of your life before they get the best of you.
A Great Philosophy, Words To Live By
A fellow blogger has this as her philosophy…
Keep my chin up, my mug full of coffee, and have a day-by-day perspective.
I agree with this. Doing these things can help one get through the day. It’s a simple thing to keep ones chin up, have a mug full of coffee and live life in the moment. This is pretty good stuff!

Rambling About Keeping Up Appearances
Many British sit com fans remember the show “Keeping Up Appearances” featuring a woman who believes she is above her middle-class existence and often shuns her own family members who are salt of the Earth and who live in their own reality. This woman who alters the pronunciation her last name to sound more impressive has a well kept home with many nice things. She has fine place settings to impress people who who she invites to candlelit suppers. Her life is about hob nobbing with the well-to-do in her community. Her husband is also very long suffering through it all. It’s a funny show and reminds me of how some people will try hard to live above their means.
Many among us put a premium on having the finest in life and to be with people that make us feel higher than our station in life. Everyone keeps up appearances in their lives where they are better than they actually are. Our world has snobs and elitists that perceive that only the best will do. For example one might have gone to a less prestigious school growing up but as an adult they don’t think that same school is good enough for their kids. Socially they try to keep up with the Joneses and will rob Peter to pay Paul so they can have the biggest home on the block.
We all see people like this everywhere we go. I have a little of this in me too, we all do. The problem we have in this life is a lack of humility and making do with what we have. Now I am not saying we can’t have nice things but nice doesn’t mean breaking the bank to afford it.
Life’s passions drive what we do. Our heart is often where our treasure is. Many people work hand to mouth, paycheck to paycheck just for the basics of life. I have been one of those people and to some extent I still am. My friends I am grateful to God for the life I have and the gifts I have been given. Take nothing for granted, love one another, have faith in a cause that means something and be who you are meant to be. Those are the most important ways of keeping up appearances.
