Holiday movies are like friends you see once a year. Of course you don’t have to see them just during the holidays but they are special that way. There are great characters and places that make the season more colorful.

  • The Holiday
  • White Christmas
  • Meet Me In St. Louis
  • Serendipity
  • Fallen Angel
  • Disney’s The Christmas Carol

  • The Nativity Story
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • The Muppet Christmas Carol
  • Hallmark Christmas Movies
  • It’s A Wonderful Life
  • The Polar Express

And there are more. Without these movies its just not the same.

This movie is always the first Christmas movie we watch each year. It isn’t the holidays without this flick. Chevy Chase is epic in this classic family movie. Johnny Galecki from “The Big Bang Theory” plays Rusty in this seasonal favorite.

Friday Night Movie – “Inside Out”

This is a great flick that shows us what goes on inside us all and in particular Riley a young girl who has her life turned upside down due to a family move. Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, Lewis Black and Phyllis Smith provide voices for this Pixar presentation.

Happy Back To The Future Day – The Future Is Here!

Today is the day that the DeLorean time machine built by Dr. Emmett L. Brown was programmed to travel into the future in the movie “Back To The Future”.

We actually visit this date in the movie “Back To the Future Part II”. The 1980’s vision of the future is very different than the reality we face here in 2015. There are a few things that are close to what the movie predicted. Today is a celebration of this great movie trilogy and how it helped us imagine the future in a different way.

Music Monday: “That Thing You Do”

Title song from the film That Thing You Do!, as performed by The Wonders.

This is one of my favorite Tom Hanks movies. Set in the era of early rock and roll this movie is stylish and fun.

A Sampling of Wednesday’s Day At Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

Today was about old and new attractions at Universal Studios and Island of Adventure. We were hot most of the day and we walked and walked. We ate well too. It’s been a great time here in Orlando. We come home on Thursday.
