Quote The Movie

We all have a movie we have seen so many times that you can quote it almost line by line. For us there are several of them. The dialogue is imprinted on your brain and you feel like you could do a reenactment like you see in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. The whole point of reciting the lines is to have a good time and perhaps annoy some folks in the process.

What is your favorite movie to quote line by line?

Independence Day – A Yearly Tradition

It’s time for that classic movie that shows today’s films how to save the world from aliens while obliterating The White House the right way. Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch and a deeply talented cast make this movie a classic. This film is a family classic that we watch each July 4th but this year on July 3rd.

Jurassic World – A Good Summertime Flick

From Wikipedia: Set twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World takes place on the same fictional island of Isla Nublar, where a fully-functioning dinosaur theme park has operated for ten years. The park plunges into chaos when a genetically-modified dinosaur, Indominus rex, breaks loose and runs rampant across the island.

I wasn’t sure what to think about this 4th movie but I enjoyed it. There was a lot to think about in this movie and it continues on the themes of the first movie. They do a great job of linking the past with the present with some differences. Jurassic World is everything the park would be in the future. It makes a commentary on the human condition where we have the need to be entertained in bigger, bolder ways.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are great in this movie along with the rest of the cast that includes Judy Greer, Vincent D’Onofrio and BD Wong. Jimmy Fallon makes a cameo too. Friends I say go see this if you were a fan of the original movie. Expect to be more terrified instead of grossed out. You will sort of know what is coming but there are still some surprises and lots of chaos at times.

Movie of The Night: “The Host”

From IMDB: When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about, proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.

This is the movie of the night. For some reason I am in the mood for dystopian movies. Perhaps its a reflection of the times we are living in. It’s not good for everyone at the moment but better for others. Art imitates life so they say.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

MV5BMjA4MDQwODg2NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNTc5ODc2OA@@._V1_SX640_SY720_Jeremy Renner you know from the Avengers movies stars in this heavily adapted classic tale where the brother and sister duo are hunting witches who have abducted children. It’s gruesome, violent and somewhat disturbing. We wanted to watch something light hearted but dang, this isn’t it.

Watch with extreme caution and not while eating anything that you don’t wanna see again.

I may have bad dreams because of this one.

Tomorrowland, My New Favorite Movie

I was speechless and emotional at the end of Tomorrowland. This was the story of humanity and what direction we want to take. Its about being dreamers and having hope. If people would dream a lot the world would be a much better place.

George Clooney and Britt Robertson shine in this movie as kindred spirits who are fighting the problems of the present to save humanity and to create a future. Hugh Laurie is a great nemesis who tries to keep the status quo. The movie was spectacular and visually stunning. I fully recommend this film. Go see it. I hope you will find hope again and will dream for a much better tomorrow in your land.
