It’s Super Sunday – The Olympics and The Super Bowl

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, with the Seattle Seahawks taking on the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clarita, California. This is going to be a good game, but the story of the event is Bad Bunny performing the halftime show. For many, it’s about gathering together and enjoying food and fun with family and friends.

At the same time, the Winter Olympics is going on in Milano Cortina, Italy. There is lots of outstanding competition with the world’s best athletes on ice and snow. At this writing, Norway leads the medal count. There is still lots more to come over the next couple of weeks.

Both events are airing in the United States on the NBC television network and its cable TV outlets.

The Olympics Last Supper Thing

This Last Supper outrage is stupid. First, it’s not the Last Supper, it’s something else. Also, Jesus is more concerned about how his children treat one another and how we care for creation. Get mad about kids going hungry, clean water, violence, and hate. Ultimately it’s just an artist’s imagination that tells the story of Jesus and his bros having dinner for one final time at a table where everyone sitting on just one side. Just saying.

The Winter Olympics, Pure Athleticism #WinterOlympics2018

Say what you will but these Winter Olympic athletes are badass. As Seth Meyers says its 48 different ways of sliding but you gotta have serious strength to control that sliding. Much of what you see is people versus elements and that is a whole new element to the competition. I’d like to see Tom Brady or Lebron James go cross-country skiing or do snowboarding. This is a tough set of games and you have to be up to the weather and physical challenge day in and day out. This isn’t for the weak at heart.

The 2018 Winter Olympics In South Korea

The first Winter Olympics ever held in South Korea will kick off in PyeongChang on Friday, February 9, 2018. Athletes from around the world will be going for the gold. I’m a fan of figure skating and the bobsled racing. It’s going to be a good couple of weeks of action. May this be a time of peaceful sportsmanship.
