I declare this weekend as politics free weekend. No political posts, let’s change the mood and tenor and atmosphere. Only pop culture and stuff that makes you smile. Let’s have a spooky Halloween weekend that can be a diversion to the every day we have faced recently. I am sure folks from across the world would be grateful. Make it positive, light-hearted and other stuff. What do you say?

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
The Day’s theme for 2016 is “The Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace.”
My friends lets resolve to spend our lives seeking peace and love. We must reject violence, racism, bias, homophobia and hate. Our world is a fragile place where we all live together on the same planet. It must start in our hearts and spill out into our communities. Tonight the Rio Olympics officially start in Rio. Athletes from around the world will gather to compete for gold, silver and bronze. It’s always an exciting time to see these games with ancient roots. May the athletes and others gathering and be safe from harm and that peace will be the theme of the events.
I wonder when there will be a time where we love our neighbor as ourselves and stop listening to those who give that commandment lip service. Too many believers are listening to politicians and pundits who espouse paranoia and hate. I think its time to turn weapons into plowshares, to end constant war to live in peace. We should should think of arms of love instead of arms of destruction.
