This morning I made waffles and bacon and I am on my second cup of coffee. My day will be spent chilling out and getting things done around the house. Last night I went to a house party for our parish choir and that was a lot of fun. Yes Episcopalians know how to have a great time. I ate and drank and had a good time.
I hope your weekend will go well and that you will do what you want when you want. Everyone needs and deserves a couple days off to renew and recharge. Love, grace, peace and fun my friends.
Life is full of surprises. You never know what is going to happen from day to day. Everyday is a new thing all of its own. Anything that happens comes from a place of people making decisions that have a ripple effect. Everything changes, everything does not remain the same. My friends, expect the unexpected.
Political correctness exists because some people have forgotten to be kind, civil and polite. Free speech has a price and responsibility. It’s a theory at least.
The fear of saying something is the fear of saying it wrong. You know what it is to be tongue tied and the awkwardness of making a point without being misunderstood. In your head you rehearse it and it makes sense but when it leaves your mouth you screw it all up. Words are like bullets you can’t take them back easily if at all. Communications are life and if you aren’t able to say what you mean where others can understand then its a serious problem. I struggle with this daily and sometimes it’s a matter of confidence and worry about saying something the right way without offending someone. Life can be difficult when you are trying to say what you mean to say.
Don’t give to a political candidate in 2016. There are millions of dollars being spent in this campaign and the return on investment isn’t all that good. Just think about all the money being spent in this election cycle that could be put to good use to do the most good. There are alternatives and choices that would benefit people in need. Please consider giving to a college, an orphanage, a place of worship or homeless shelter or shelter for women in crisis. The homeless could use some of that to help get back on their feet as well as a unemployed person.
Maybe the best solution for our problems can lie outside of politics and in direct help to those in need. I think the political machine is too big and perhaps our election cycle is too long and too complicated. Democracy is expensive too. Charity and philanthropy are two ways to impact many people quickly. Think about all this as America goes to the polls.
