Post Length

I blog several times a day with posts of varying length. Some of my fellow bloggers here on WordPress are incredible writers who can pump out over 1000 words without sweat. My posts are lucky if they reach 200 words or so. You can get your point across in different ways whether it be words, pix, video, etc. However does a longer post get taken more seriously than a shorter one?

I guess I want to keep things brief or perhaps I just run out of things to say. Peoples life experience can influence and inform their blogging so I guess if you have done much you have a lot to say. One thing I can say is that I am a decent writer (who needs help with punctuation) and I am from the school that our attention span is shorter these days so I need to say what I need to say quickly. Not to say a long post can’t keep ones attention. Some folks can write forever on a subject and that inspires me. Writing comes from research, living and self examination and to be a better blogger who can write with authority doing those things can make a difference.

Well, WordPress tells me this post is over 200 words. Amazing.

Make A Bloggers Day

Be the first or among the first to follow a new blogger. It will make their day knowing they are building an audience. Remember the days when you first started blogging and how when someone you had never met before liked a post or followed your blog. Making connections through blogging can be a great way to expand ones horizons.

It’s good to encourage people to keep on blogging and to make this process fun.

I am a middle-aged dork and it always amazes me when I get younger followers. Many of them are like half my age. I am not all that cool y’all. Sometimes my efforts to be relevant come across as being silly or head shaking. Maybe people like genuine people no matter what time of life they are in.

Age of Respect

I am 45 years old and I don’t think I want to be known as someones elder, although I am technically. Long living is a badge of honor and the longer you live the more opportunities you have in life but you know I don’t think I want to be “superior” to someone because I am older. Children should be taught to respect their elders but there comes a time in life where there is equalization despite ones age. People you once called Mr./Mrs./Ms you can call in time by their first name. Age is a number, sometimes it must be respected but other times its something that shouldn’t be a serious issue.

A Busy Friday

Some days are busier than others but today seems to be a hectic Friday. Keeping busy helps the time fly by it seems. I love my job but 4:30 needs to come quick.
