Right now, the free world is being led by people who stand up to bullies and to those who are fighting for freedom against tyranny and unprovoked attacks. Also, may I add those not trying to economically damage allies. At this moment in history, it’s not The President of the United States and by extension The United States is in a dark place, and we need someone to see the country through.

Live From New York, It’s Saturday Night Live’s 50th Anniversary
Saturday Night Live is a venerable television institution. This long-running sketch comedy and musical series has been on American TV sets via the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) for fifty years. The first episode featured comedian George Carlin, Billy Preston and Janis Ian.
SNL launched the careers of John Belushi, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtain, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Jason Sudeikis, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Keenan Thompson, Will Ferrell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Molly Shannon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and many many more. At its core, it is a variety show that satires what is going on in the culture.
It is a show that always makes you laugh at first and then makes you think. Each episode has a host and a musical guest. The music is as important as the skits if you ask me. Tonight, the show will celebrate its anniversary, looking back at all the talented people and crazy stuff they have done all these fifty years. Congratulations, Lorne Michaels and company, for your amazing achievement.
It’s Finally February
Rumor has it that it’s finally February. January seemed to last entirely too long. With the USA in turmoil, with a horrible president, fires, aircraft crashes, and trade wars with Canada and Mexico, it’s going to be another long month, I fear. Let’s do the best we can, good people.
Clearing Up 2024
I don’t believe there is enough sage that can be burned to clear up 2024. It will require something much stronger that is more potent. Looking ahead 2025 is going to be worse.
Simple Soup Supper At Church For The Food Bank
My church does a soup supper every year to support our local food bank. Members will make homemade soups and bread to raise funds that help the mission and create awareness of the important programs of this important agency in our community. Taking care of the least of these is a commandment and central tenet of our faith.
My missus The Soup Diva made this soup and the bread was made by another member of the church. It was a tasty reminder that people do without every day.
