Something About Office Politics

Office politics is a reality workers face. It’s not fun. However it’s not the reason you exist for your job it’s the end user, the customer, the client, the student, the volunteer. People who benefit from your work should be the primary mission of anyone on the job. Yes politics is a real issue in any office situation that can discourage us but it shouldn’t deter us from accomplishing our goals or performing tasks at hand. Keep on working and keep the main thing the main thing and hopefully that will take care of business.

Something About Online Living

AAEAAQAAAAAAAAIMAAAAJGY4NTIzYTIyLTlhNjUtNDljZS05YjZiLTFmNjkwZTJjN2MzOAIt seems so many people are living their lives online without stepping away to live it in reality. The lure of a virtual life is so much more appealing than that of a real existence. We find people who can’t differentiate what is artificial and what is actual.

When you un-friend someone on social media it could be interpreted as un-friending in the real world which is not the case but the two seem to have linkage in the hearts and minds of many.

People are emboldened to do and say things on social platforms that they might not say to your face. That in itself can cause many problems and can end friendships and family connections. You have to decide if it’s all worth it.

Everything is amplified online and there is no way to translate full meaning in text or words without possibly offending someone. Freedom of expression is a great thing but with it comes great care and responsibility. You have to know who you are conversing with and not everyone will get what you are saying could be humorous or even serious.

Your online life is to enhance your real world life not the other way around. Although for me I am always looking for things to blog about and to be inspired by what happens to me in daily living.

My friends it’s a very good thing to get out and get off-line for a bit. Get some fresh air, go to a coffee-house and meet friends face-to-face. Engage in conversations over a meal. If you have a porch invite your friends over for real face time. The social network has existed for years before computers or social networking. It will give you a lot of great ideas to post about.

Living online should be done in a measured way. Living off-line is where the action and adventure lies. Having the world at your fingertips does not replace having the world outside your door.

A Needed Reminder For America

Ronald Reagan once said America is a shining city on a hill. I believe that promise is still possible but it will be achieved by love, grace, mercy and inclusion. It will take a village saying yes we can. America is stronger together. America is a better place when every person can realize the promise of the founders then and now of our freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness without bounds.

As an American first and Democrat second I worry about a future where every person can dream and hope and love who they choose. The America I know shows compassion and toughness when needed.

Our moral compass is built on liberty and justice for all. No matter what your faith, creed, heritage and gender you should have a true level playing field. The days ahead are about setting the table for the future and showing our kids that boasting and bullying are not the hallmarks of what a leader is about. It’s about a lifetime of service of helping people from every walk of life and putting people first.

Six Word Story

Those who abuse power need redemption.

The Free Press Of America A Right and Responsibility

Freedom of the press is a venerated right in America. To deny well established media organizations from participating in the reporting of the days events of our government is frankly un-American. It doesn’t matter if its liberal or conservative the press should have full access to our leaders outside of revealing state secrets. The Trump administration is showing they don’t care about making us great but making us ignorant.

My Politics In These Days

In these days I find myself loyal and supportive to those who have the most to lose in the current political climate. When you support the politics of hate, division, greed and selfishness then you don’t understand what the fear that some have because they are in peril. I cannot abide by people who proclaim freedom and liberty for themselves while denying it for others.
