Throwback Thursday – Live Aid

Live Aid was a benefit concert in 1985 held simultaneously at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia and Wembley Stadium in London. The cause it was raising money for was the “famine in Ethiopia that caused over half a million deaths, making it one of the worst in recent history”.

Live Aid – A Historic Music Event To Benefit Famine Relief Held 34 Years Ago

Live Aid, a concert to raise much needed money and awareness of the famine in Ethiopia was held 34 years ago in London and Philadelphia. It featured a who’s who of talent of the 1980’s. Organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure this event was one for the history books.

The greatest single performance in the minds and hearts of many was by Queen. Freddie, Brian, John and Roger owned Wembley and the world for that matter. Enjoy this clip of the entire set that was magical and other worldly.
