In the northern hemisphere its the first day of Winter. Where I live its 61 degrees so it doesn’t feel like the classic winter temperatures. More than likely there will not be a white Christmas but those are few and far between. I am ready for some colder, more winter-like weather.
It finally stopped raining here in the Chattanooga area. We have had 3 straight days of it and we haven’t seen the Sun since Friday I think. Rumor has it that it will make an appearance today. I know rain is a necessary thing but when it keeps coming it can be hard to get around. The rain can give you the blues especially if you make your living outdoors. Needless to say I am ready to dry out a bit. Excuse the language of my graphic but the sentiment is real.
Today was Small Business Saturday, a day set aside to promote small businesses in the midst of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. American Express is championing this effort to help independent retailers have a big impact on the economy during the holiday shopping season. We did our part today to help the economy and to put some money into the til of some of our favorite businesses on the North Shore of Chattanooga.
There are some great scenic views of my hometown from the parking area of historic Ruby Falls on Lookout Mountain. Its perspectives like this that make me grateful to live in this great place.
Saturday night is alright for fighting…Elton John.
This Saturday it is going to be a football/soccer turf war between my hometown Chattanooga FC and The New York Cosmos B for the National Professional Soccer League national championship. I cannot wait!
