According to Wikipedia, the winter solstice, also called the hibernal solstice, occurs when either of Earth’s poles reaches its maximum tilt away from the Sun. This happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere. It’s also a day to welcome the beginning of winter. Stay warm everyone!

I found this on Facebook and thought it funny. I have seen videos of people experimenting with water to see if it freezes in mid-air, so this has the same feeling. Well, it finally snowed here and it’s way more than a dusting. This is a pretty good amount for Chattanooga, Tennessee. We have had way more than this in the past around this time of year. So in the past couple of days we have experienced 3 of 4 seasons.
At Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania today Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so that means that there will be six more weeks of winter. I could go for a good day of snow, just saying. Stay warm and safe good people.
