Rambling About My Blogging Philosophy, In Short

My blogging philosophy is to pay attention to the world around you and inspiration will strike. I also do a lot of life streaming where I post about things that are going on at the moment. There are a few things I do as a routine when posting such as Music Mondays, Tunes Tuesdays, Throwback Thursday and Flashback Fridays that sort of thing. I will schedule some posts ahead of time if there is a theme I want to explore and to create some continuity. Blogging to me is an organic activity that needs to flow and breathe as life goes on and as the situations of life arise. Of course to keep a blog alive you have to keep on blogging.

Why Is It…?

Why is it that mean people are so loud and they seem to drown out the good and the nice? It is very troubling that this seems to be the case these days. People have it in them to be genuine and kind but they also seem to revert to being mean and vicious. Really how hard is it to be good? Really!?!

The More, The Merrier

keep-calm-and-read-my-blog-39When someone likes your posts and follows your blog it’s a great feeling. However, I am not all about getting as many followers as possible here at The Tony Burgess Blog. Quality is as important as quantity in my mind. A fellow blogger just mentioned she reached the 1000 follower mark and I am thinking do I want to do the same here. On Tumblr I had well over 1000 followers but it became difficult to manage that many. WordPress might be a different animal though.

Currently I am around 850 so I am not far off. Making connections and friendships in blogging is what I am most interested in doing, but can you do that with 1000 people. My brother-in-law has near 5000 friends on Facebook which I think is the cap on personal accounts but he is a person who naturally makes connections in his line of work. I guess time will tell if I reach that 1000 follower milestone. Perhaps I just should think that the more the merrier is a good thing. Hopefully it means people like you, or something like that.

Blog Platform Blocking

adblock_236247622-thumb-380xauto-3929Every blogging platform should have a blocking feature as to protect people from unnecessary harassment and hate. Too many folks out there are ridiculed and bullied for no reason at all. Protecting one’s heart and soul online is imperative these days. We can’t take any chances especially with younger folks who are the most vulnerable. One day I hope WordPress will have such a feature. We cannot take any chances in the world in which we live.

What’s Happening On My Desktop Tonight – WordPress and the game

WordPress on the left and the Alabama v. Clemson game on the right. Multitasking like a boss, or something like that. I am running a Chromebook BTW.
