Be Humble In What You Know Just Saying

I have found that being wise is different from knowing stuff. There are people who stockpile knowledge and use it to elevate their self-esteem. People have studied subjects for years and have cultivated and curated knowledge through hard work and dedication. Whereas some folks like to show off what they think they know just because they read it in one book or on a website. Sounds familiar and personal right?

Personally, I am not a fan of people who think they know everything about something just to show off. Listening to a learned teacher who can impart knowledge is always preferable because they have not only read they have sorted things out through some deep reflection and contemplation.

To the old, try not to know better because of your age and life experience. To the young just chill out and be sure you know of what you speak about.

In short share what you know and admit when you don’t know jack. Be humble and willing to learn new things, just saying.

How Much Care Is There Available

With all the calamity and chaos in the world its hard to care about it all. Of course we should all be concerned about things like nuclear missiles, earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, health care and the like but how much can the human heart and soul care about? Sure I feel grief over the earthquakes of Mexico, the big storms that seem to be happening all around us, nuclear arms in North Korea and the seeming hatred of giving everyone access to care to keep them alive without costing them an arm and a leg.

My gosh this is a lot to take in. Question is do we have the capacity to care about everything at every moment? How much care is available in our hearts and souls? We are all being put to the test it seems. I don’t know what to think of it all but to think about it from a place of faith and hope. Things have got to get better, don’t you think?

Life is scary, no promises were given as to how carefree it could be. Maybe we just should breathe in, have some gumption and hold on tight. Seems like that just might get us through.

I would think we would be doing everything possible to preserve life in all its forms and to seek peace in whatever ways we can. Let’s hope those who are making decisions will see that as a must do for everyone. Things can only get better.

Daily Prompt: Sting

A bee sting can be painful or any sort of bad news. A sting can come and go quickly but sometimes there is some lasting after effect that changes you. In life you have the sweet victory but other times there is a stinging loss. How we react to both situations reveals who we are in a way.

Something About Posting

It’s interesting how one can post only one thing one day and post many things the next. Blogging is funny that way. Everyone runs out of creative juice then creativity rains from above and you can’t stop yourself from writing and posting. Post frequency is as individual as anything and every person is different in their view of how much to post and when to post it.

For me I post when the lightning strikes and inspiration presents itself. So you might see an endless stream of posts or none at all. Remember its your blog and you make the rules. Be mindful to not overwhelm your readers too often, they might unfollow you. Of course it all depends on when the mood is right and you gotta be ready to post on whatever device is handy.

Now More Than Ever, Just Saying

Have you ever heard the phrase “now more than ever” used to emphasize what is needed in the moment that seems to be dire or insurmountable? I admit I use it to make a case for something that I feel is warranted for any serious situation. Now more than ever we need to be saved from ourselves or now more than ever you need this thing that can make your life so much better. Perhaps now more than ever people require this or that.

My point is that we will always have situations where now more than ever is what makes sense in life. One thing I hope is that this won’t become so cliché it loses its intended meaning. More than ever is one of those things that we say when there is nothing else we can say to get our point across and to create a sense of urgency. There is value in this statement and I hope it doesn’t become cheapened the more we use it.

Happy 48th Birthday To Yours Truly!

Today I turn another year better, wiser, nerdier. It’s my 48th birthday and I am not sure how I feel yet. Celebrating another trip around the sun is always a good thing but what you do in all those trips and how you live is what matters most. I won’t be taking today off which is what many people do on days like this. Let’s make today a day of celebrating all our lives no matter what stage in life we are.
